Should the door remain open or closed….as you sit quietly reading a book during your “quiet-time” with God. I love to have the windows opened to hear the birds with their melodious chirping or coo’s for that matter! We face obstacles in our lives so very often its seems the doors have a giant type of boulder to get rid of before entering at times-what about in our own personal ministries, does God place you in the ministry itself or did you just throw the door open? found in Isaiah 55:8-9: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
At times a “blocked-door” can be very frustrating since you cant see another entrance into the environment which your feet are to take you….BUT the door may be closed to force you to enter into a brand new door, or a door that has been moved due to some damage/therefore restoring the new door has taken place! of course their may be several doors, in which the question is “which door do I pick”-so, whatever path I may be on is normally the 1st door I will pick; sometimes the Lord was standing right next to the door I was suppose to pick or step into? but I either got distracted or choose the wrong one due to my blinders in life being strapped around my head like a horse! I do love horses, and love to ride as this memory takes me back to when I was a teenager striving to fit it with the “cool-kids” which never happened of course. I think I chose the door to ride horses because I was alone with God during this time and can still remember the types of conversations I had during this confusing time in my life.
Have you ever dreamed of walking thru a Palace Door? like Moses when he was a prince then shackled to become the liberator. Even OUR LORD requested a path to bypass the Cross, God said NO. The NO was said to this “DOOR” in the Garden of Gethsemane so HE could say YES to the Gates Of Heaven!
A prayer that I found:
He asked for strength that he might achieve,
he was made weak that he might endure;
He asked for health to do larger things,
he was given infirmity that he might do better things;
He asked for power that he might impress men,
he was given weakness that he might seek God;
He asked for wealth that he might be free from care,
he was given poverty that he might be wiser than carefree
He asked for all things that he might enjoy life,
he was given life that he might enjoy all things;
He received nothing he asked for.
He received more than he ever hoped for.
His prayer was answered!
Quote Of The Day: “The shortest distance between a closed and open door is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything”.
